Just come back from 2 weeks fishing from costa rica down to Panama and got some great waves at the start of our trip in San jose in Costa and finished with some great surf at Playa Venao. Use to live in Mexico but depending on where you want to travel in mexico you could use up 3 months just in a few states. El Sal and nicaragua also have some phenomenal surf

Not yet, been busy moving house/job, now living on a rubber plantation south of Kuala Lumpur, also managed to get over to the east coast for waves most weekends as I am now much closer to the surf, season has just finished been a good one though.

Back in NZ for 6 weeks from late march, surfed most of South America not central though, El Salvador looks the business.

Yep Malaysia gets waves from November through February from South China sea swells, it ain't no indo but some of the set ups can be freakin amazing and break at a very consistent consistent 2-5 foot. Cherating point is a super long left point that can be great on it's day, Chendor point just North is even better. Tioman Island also has class waves as do the Pentaian islands in the north east of the country.

This google photo shows the sand bottom point quite nicely on a small dayCherating... [waveexplorers.com]

Tropical lows in the South China sea can push 12-13 second period clean swells through during March, April also

Like I say it ain't indo but does get very good at times and beats a kick in the balls after a weeks work.

2 days in Panama city just to see the smoking hot chicks. nightclub called isabella is the one place to go. Panama canal is worth a visit as is old town in Panama City. Pavones in Costa is worth the trip if it is going to be on

The one further north is still semi secret but mainly because you need to off road for about 15minutes to get there.

Always empty max crowd about 5, think 1km barreling sand bottom point, when Occy and Parko came over they were calling it superbank reversed with no crowds, Occys actually been back 3 times that I know of.

My weekend getaway so anyone passing through KL give me a yell and will take u for a surf even got spare board here.

Ha ha yep done sunway, kind bizarre.

Back in '92...although it could have been '93, or even '96... old '20 was following the "Peyote Trail" south from Mexico after some unpleasantness with the Federales which necessitated my immediate and hasty departure from Tijuana (another story...) with my trusty board bearer Jose (whose real name might not have even been Jose at all, but who after a period of time answered to it, so I christened him thus- he spoke no English, and I spoke no Mexican our communication was by a series of grunts and elaborate hand gestures)...

In Boliva, and then later Paraguay we encountered waves of the sort that would make a grown man cry.... absolutely no one out at all..... and peeling like bannanas.... I 'd still be there too if it was not for the damn tesete fly, maleria.... and certain young chica called Margaritte...
