I'll do it for less. In Microsoft Frontpage too, but a visitor counter and a scroll bar will cost ya.

So you reckon Python is the way to go Toaster?

Tubes I plan on doing it for fun so I'll be working on my own stuff and not the whole job thing.

I hear ya tho. Sometimes, esp on a day like to day, I wish I was doing something outside. Might be one of those grass is greener things. You could get a job building and pour concrete 48 weeks a year. Not my idea of fun.

I would go for something in C language, PHP (a framework like Ruby On Rails or Symfony are great ones to learn for example), and JS.

They all have good points and bad. I would choose the one you find easiest to learn then the others will come much faster. Codeacademdy has most of them. It's one of those things in life like calculus some won't get I till they have the right teacher, and getting stuck with the wrong language for yourself is the same as getting stuck with a crab teacher.

What you talkin bout Marko?

Anyways Jimmy Utah - like any job in IT, be prepared to be chained to your desk where after a year of eating too many sausage rolls and cakes for morning tea you will develop a flabby beer gut and a double chin.

But in all seriousness if it's a career you want to pursue, there are loads of programming jobs around the place. Many, many more than graphic or web designer jobs that's for sure!

Absolutely huge now, but then all he does day and night is sit on the computer so suppose it happens

Thats a bit harsh, I'm working in IT for 16 years and I've no winter coat. Its a great career for travel too - most skills are the same across the board.

haha ^ aint that the farkin truth ^^^^ truth!!!!

Bit like responsibility vs. physical hard work, we often think the grass is way greener on the other side but more often than not, when you get there, you realise that the reason its so green is cause its crappy kakuya weed.
