I banished him some time before xmas...he was just getting out of hand, to many years on here... it consumed him in the end. Daveo and Floyd are next on god's list, he woke me and told me so last Wednesday at 1:57 am.
Please refrain from mentioning his name again. He is watching, It only feeds his ego. And thats not healthy for him and his recovery program.

Always some health issue... genetics, video games and to much sugar at a guess...
surfed by him out south piha nearly a month ago..had his knee taped up..good surfer..
battery what exactly did you say that pizzed him off? Used to lurk on here a bit but not much now, think this place has had its hay day.
My guess is that it was due to that thread about him being a 'hack' DJ only in it for the money which was posted here from some DJ forum, along with his name. That or his Bank supervisor seeing him post hate posts during working hours.

hmm Statik was a controversial figure like you Roy but he cracked me up tho. if I remember you guys would battle it out? Quite a few turned part time lurkers these days.
Statiks still surfing, knees getting better but it does hinder him.
My take on him leaving is that the forum is for most of us a bit of fun on the side. What we are on here may not be what we are in reality, or for some it is. It's like a social online pub for like minded or opposite opinionated old gits. But when people take what is said on the forum seriously and try to use it as real bladder fodder in the real world it crosses the line. At this point you either step out or punch people in the face. A bigger man steps out which he did. Sending private abusive messages (like BC does) is one thing, but threatening people about family or work environments is out of control.
The big thing is that as a lurker you only see the posts, you don't see all the crap PMs and threats that can go on. So while Battery openly celebrates his departure the rest of us wonder why, not saying battery was the instigator.
Biggest frustration is that with know one baiting Roy and Scooter there is no continuing banter of any entertaining value. At least there is an influx of photos on the forum and great to see l8drop starting off with a bang.

My experience of meeting people in real life after getting to know them online, never done internet dating before anyone says it, is that it's kinda awkward and stunted for a little while but the usual barriers and social rituals we go through break down much faster.
So how that would work for a surfco shindig........hmmm. I think most people would be GC's even those that troll each other online would probably get along and not act like kooks because social convention would restrict overly poor behavior.
Depending on how rowdy it got or the wrong setting there would probably be one or two boil overs.
