Had some good ones at the local. Went from knee high to head high in less than an hour around 4pm. Got above head high last night.
Low must have moved off at it was less than waist high at dawn today. A quick up and down session.
Fair pumping at Orewa last night, one of those rare Head to Head & 1/2 occasions that leave you in disbelief that you're actually out at Orewa.
Looks like its dropped heaps this morning, Its a good day to still be on leave ![]()

I reckon a fair number of mysto spots would've been pumping...especially this one below. Photo taken from 2011 summer cyclone swell.

I work at the refinery, they put in a wave buoy as a couple of tankers touched bottom in a big SE swell a few years ago. It is an actual buoy, not a virtual one.
have they removed the power station?

They have cunningly used the water intakes and outlets to run a kingfish/paua farming operation.
Boilers etc have been dismantled.
So did anyone get good waves on Monday from Freda?
I didn't but enjoyed a high tide grovel nonetheless.

for a bit but not really.
Nah too windy where I was Roy was trying to be good but was made fat by the offshore

Hmm I didn't mind the wind but the sets were closing out the whole beach at low tide although a few souls got some right hand slabs in between sets. At high tide it was just a small wave in the corner. Must have been pumping somewhere though.

yeah heads, few out before it got mad, few brave souls had a dig that night...heaps of water moving.
Pataua was really really good on the monday. Didn't see anywhere on the sunday. By tuesday even oceans was small. A fun 1 to maybe 2ft.
