Worldclass...

Spud brought it up about Nelson the other day, no offence to Nelson as i know it can crank. but "worldclass".
It's a term to discribe a wave that is to often used.
People round here call Munga's a Worldclass wave... A wave that gets good 2-3 times in a year can't be called Worldclass.
I think Worldclass can only apply to a location or wave that has great surf consistently or for a majority of a season or year...
Thoughts on Worldclass waves or locations in NZ?

How about makaha in Hawaii most people who surfed it would claim one of the best waves inue world but it rarely breaks?

Raglan would have to be up there for regularity and length of ride pity its so crowded

I wouldnt say Nelson is world class thats forsure. But it gets pretty good on its day. Off the top of my head I can think of four breaks with in 20mins of my house that are off the hook when its on.

Makaha is very consistent in Winter, world class? I don’t think so unless you are a long boarder then its awesome. World famous yes, legendary surfer Rell Sun is from Makaha, its Westside hardcore. Paddling out there is like logging into this place for the first time and I already new some of the locals.
Breaks much like Arawhata road but with bath tub warm water.
