the new Tsunami alert escape route signs at Piha!! Handily showing you the way to escape a tsunami, posted along on the only road that leads out of south Piha!!! even more ridiculous is the sign for the 'Tsunami meeting point' at the bottom of the hill, possibly the lowest point on the whole beach. Do they expect that people will panic when the sirens go off and try scramblimg up the hill through the bush if the road isnt signposted, or wait patiently near the fire station as 20 meters of watery death advances on them. Beggars belief what some people do for a job sometimes, makes parking wardens look like useful members of society... Wheres a rolleyes and an angry face when you need it ??
