Well... looks like the whiz-kids at surfco have blown away years of content.

Ahh well it was time for a change I suppose, though this UI sucks if you ask me. Or maybe I'm just being an old curmugeon, reistant to change....

nah, truly it sucks.

Anyway - crappy day in the Chuh-Chuh... anyone seen a wave today?

Waves at mine this morning on North Pegasus, light offshore thru glassy to rising onshore by 10am, waist to chest high fun, 100m+ rides. Mr Sharko spent the day on Ear's Powerfish, he got heaps of waves on it.

The McTavish is aaahmazing with the sidebiters out, just the centre fin and no leggie, goes like a cut cat and is real loose and lively.

Sorry... but Christchurch drivers suck Ar*e!!!

Just popped into to town, and nearly got taken out by some pleb in a Golf GTi (C*CK!) overtaking me on the inside, to gain all of ONE place... to then be stopped by the lights ahead.... yeah, well done mate!!!! (C*CK)

THEN, in two lane traffic, politely drifted over to merge into one lane, and some 3ft midget meakon woman in a 4ft Smart Car decides to excellerate up to the car in front, not letting me in! If I didn't have my wife and new born child in the car I swear I would have frickin' Rammed her!!..... She then proceeds to give me the finger out of the window!!!

Sorry, but from my experience around the world (an I have travelled a little) Christchurch has got THE worst drivers by FAR!!

Hey Hoooo Christchurchians!

PS.... Scarbs was nice earlier... not sure what its doing now, but defo worth a look.

Hey Hoooo Christchurchians!

ohhh man....yesterday my mrs went to the library in Linwood and as she went into the carpark she saw 2 empty ones and as she went for one some guy started nutting out and abusing her so she went on to the next one and after they both parked the guy ran up to our car (with baby in the back) and started screaming abuse through her window and giving her the fingers and then he punched her!!! f*#kin punched her!!
She then rang me at work giving me the license plate number just shaking and scared. I got there within 10min to find that he'd gone........but......he parked over the road at Eastgate and the mrs spotted him looking around the carpark for familiar looking cars to ours.....so........I jumped in the car, fanged over there and jumped out straight at him, basically hitting up for a scrap!!
He sh1t himself claiming he had a impairment cos he had a hearing aid and the tried to do the bolt....but I got him by the jacket and slammed him up on the wall...I was so keen to whip him several vicious blows to the snout but there too many people around so I dragged him over to the bank and got security to call the cops.
Thankfully my Mrs had witnesses who saw this woman beating coward.
Hopefully the long arm of the law inflicts as much damage as my arm and fist wanted too.

here's a good chch driver's story for ye...

this am I back out of my drive to take my daughter to preschool... as I'm straightening out and begin to roll on down the street, a white station wagon comes careening round the corner, just misses me, passes me and tears on down the street.

I continue on behind the car, which is clearly doing 60+k's down our little residential road. It happens that this car continues on ahead of me, turning where I intend to turn and winding up a few minutes later outside my child's preschool and the neighbouring primary school, adjacent the spot where recently a small child and two adults were killed in a tragic accident going only 40ks.

I approached the woman as she was unloading one of her two children hurriedly. "Excuse me," I say to her as she spins and looks dumbly at me. "Did you happen to see in the paper recently how that wee girl and most of her family were killed right over there"

*blank stare from woman*

"Did you see that in the paper miss?"

"Yeah, I did..." She starts.

"Well, they were going only 40ks, you know... and when you passed me and nearly hit me you were doing at least 60..."

Now it dawns on her and her face goes stern and dark. She hurries her kid along and stoutly says "I'm not talking to you. I don't need this. Maybe YOU should have stopped. YOU were in the wrong" and she charges off.

I call after her "I see you have two children... driving like that, they could easily wind up like that poor wee girl" Thinking I'd appeal to her sense of motherly protectiveness...

Then it dawns on me; she'd just walked off from a confrontation with a stranger, leaving her other child alone in the car.

Some people shouldn't be permitted to reproduce.

not a single ride more than 4 seconds being had. Typical crumbly, sectiony, bugggery crap.

Clown-central Taylors. I'm beginning to think I may yet go the whole summer without surfing there for the first time in the fat end of a decade...

I actually can't remember my last surf there, but it may have been with Marko last summer when there were some solid 5-6ft sets pushing in, and a right proper kook of the scu m variety got cleaned up right into me.

agreed. I can count the actual really good sessions I've witnessed or had there on my two hands - with fingers left to spare.

All the others have either been clown festivals, dumpy closeout circuses, shifty section celebrations or plain disappointments. In my view, Taylors is only known as a "good" wave because relative to all the other garbage around here it occasionally really shines and offers up something approximating a quality wave.

Stand it next to a truly good surf break though, and it's marginal at best. There, I said it.
