surfed bethells yesterday, low tide, like 3foot, quite a strong current running, not very good, and really cold

south piha saturday 12 - 3pm 3 - 4ft fat right and steeper left peak at souths, good waves, got some good set waves but stayed in a bit too long and the last 20 mins had a couple of fall offs, but got a good last one in.
Ha Ha as a whole was surprisingly uncrowded. lots of banks (there were) or somewhere else is better... hmmmm 
I had a great surf anyway... still a bit of swell today.

serious snap? piha was bigger than 3ft at about 5pm when I left more like 3-4, going out today?

RAGS saturday:
Late call to head out so took dogs/kids and grandad to supervise. Ngarunui Beach 1-2ft max, good banks by middle stairs and left of tower. good size for the mals. wind wasnt much of an issue. (should have gone south ruas)
crowded esp by middle stairs bank
fun times to be had by the learners out there.

Hey chux, I was down in raglan yesterday visting some family. Went to ngarunui as well. Thought I saw you down the beach on the chux snapper board.
Yea but surfed the longboard, 1-2ft incredibly soft. straight out in front of the lifegaurd tower. Good for her as she got the best wave ive seen her ride (she is learning) She paddled into the wave using the face of the wave to get in, stood up turned of the bottom, trimmed aling then did a little foam bounce at the end of the wave.
Will go to piha or bethells today, looks pretty ordinary though
Yeah Turtle the chux sanpper was out there, but my brother in law was on it. I was on a white bear 9 fter.

Last surf I had was out Maori Bay last wednesday - 3-4ft with some long lefts and a peaky a-frame. Got a few hell barrels.
I just couldn't be bothered going out yesterday with the weekend crowd.
I like the west coast's power and consistent sets that come out of nowhere. But the crowds are starting to get to me big time - especially the foreigners who paddle straight to the inside and drop in!

1-2hours before high will always be crowded.
Today was about 1-2 with odd bigger one starting to come thru as tide filled in Freezing but just the 2 of us for a couple of hours

2ft peaky side /offshore wind flop at north, almost didnt go in, bobbed about for an hour and a half got a couple of keepers and went in....meh,

small but fun Taylors - last night until dark. Getting changed in the car park and i was the only car there - far cry from summer.
boss came in pretty bitter about yesterday reckoned was struggle city at piha no push in swell, tonight or tomo at dawn is my pick but will need to be on right spot

surfed Karekare today mainly 2ft. fun clean lefts closer in by the point. Me and 4 others. Give it an honest 4/10 but felt like 7/10 cos I havent surfed anything good for a while.

Observations: NZ has waves as good as anywhere else (within 20mins of my front door) and also surfers. Although both the breaks mentioned were quality and good fun

Takatu midday only cos the wife wanted to go there..2 ft mush but still had fun surfing my fat ass fish. Rags sounded mint this morn Caves. You and Borky becoming locals down there.
