It’s a strange feeling sitting in airport departure lounges. As I write this blog I’m sitting in the departure lounge at L.A.X (Los Angeles Airport), waiting for a connecting flight to Panama and the ISA World Surfing Games, Santa Catalina.
Torquay
The Torquay in Victoria, Australia, is famous for its surf beaches, with Jan Juc and the world famous Bells Beach located on the town's south-west outskirts. It was home to the popular Offshore Festival in the late 1990s. Many of the world's most famous surf companies have their home in Torquay, including Rip Curl, Piping Hot and Quiksilver.

Nationals 2013
With Christmas and my traditional Rhythm and Vines New Years done and dusted for the year it was soon time to dial in and get prepared for the first competition of my 2013, the Nationals at Piha.
